March News Update
March has been a particularly busy month for us at Elgar Shirts. You might notice we’ve updated some of the photographs on our website to showcase our expanding range and we hope you enjoy the refreshed look.
This month we’ve added new garments to our online shop and had a very busy weekend attending The Original Reenactors’ Market (TORM). TORM is a huge event and we love the atmosphere there. The range of traders at TORM is impressive and it’s a pleasure to meet customers so enthusiastic about what we do.
This year we had the chance to show customers our new trousers and one gentleman, who wanted a pair for historical fencing displays, said they were incredibly comfortable. A range of trousers will be in stock soon.
We’ve got a selection of new shirts available to buy. First is a new, warm grandad shirt in a heavy cotton. This shirt has a nostalgic feel with stripes in camel, grey and black on a neutral base.
Continuing this early 20th century style, we also have a striped Peaky Blinders style shirt in Irish linen. This is a high quality fabric with stripes of slate grey, mushroom and cream.
Finally as we move into warmer weather, we have a lighter cotton shirt. This shirt has horizontal stripes and is made from a vintage cotton that we believe is German. It is similar to a seersucker cloth.
We’ve got two big events coming up in April. First is TimeQuake in Manchester, 5th-7thApril at the BEC Arena. Last year we attended the inaugural event and it attracts a quirky selection of people, from steampunk to sci-fi, and everything in between. Last year’s costumes were amazing so we’re excited to see the turn out this time!
Later in April, on the 27th – 28th, we’ll be at the Festival of Vintage at York Racecourse. The beautiful pin curls and Land Girl outfits were a huge inspiration and lead us to creating our own range of women’s trousers which we will be revealing soon.
For more details about upcoming events, please find our events page here. We hope to see you at one of these great festivals!
